Question 1

What is a domain portfolio manager?

Accepted Answer

A domain portfolio manager is software that keeps a record of the domain names you own: what each cost, when it expires, where it is listed, what offers it received and what it sold for. Namelizer does this and also checks names against the public registry.

Question 2

Does Namelizer buy or sell domains for me?

Accepted Answer

No. Buying, listing and selling happen at registrars and marketplaces with your own accounts. Namelizer tracks the results and links to those sites.

Question 3

What is RDAP?

Accepted Answer

RDAP is the standard, machine-readable way to look up domain registration data such as registrar, creation date, expiry date and status. It is the modern replacement for WHOIS text lookups.

Question 4

Does no DNS record mean a domain is available?

Accepted Answer

No. A registered domain can have no DNS records. Namelizer uses the registry (RDAP) answer and shows Unknown when it cannot get one. Confirm availability and price at a registrar before buying.

Question 5

Where is my data stored?

Accepted Answer

Without an account, only in your own browser. With a free account your data syncs between your devices. CSV export works either way for backups.

Question 6

Is Namelizer free?

Accepted Answer

The app opens without an account, and a free account adds sync between devices. Paid plans have not been decided yet.
